I think we broke Millie

Apologies for anyone who has been following our travels and waiting with bated breath for our next post. We've been high in the hills of Montana & Wyoming, visiting Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. It's been amazing, but we may have broken Millie. It's been a lot! We're trying to teach them, travel them, feed them, sleep them, bathe them (just kidding) and make sure they see all the things. Some days we do regular school, some days we don't because we’re hanging out on a super-volcano. Some days they eat 3 square meals, some days you realize (like today), that the last real meal they had was dinner 2 days ago. The days have been monster, and Millie is feeling it. She goes between super excited, super hilarious and super crazy. Today's mission: feed Millie vegetables and rest.

When last I wrote, we had arrived at an alpaca farm for the night. We were literally parked

right next to the animals in the field. After a tour of the babies and an expensive trip to the gift shop, we went to sleep with a dog named Falkor (!) watching over the RV (and the alpacas) and protecting us from coyotes.

In the morning we drove to Yellowstone. This was a major bucket list item for me. It was cold and windy, but nonetheless incredible to think about what was happening under our feet and all around us. Something I DIDN’T expect from Yellowstone was all the driving. The park is huge, and all the articles basically had us on the main road through the park looking around. After several hours, we had lost the girls to absolutely lunacy, and James and I weren't far behind (mostly because of the girls, not Yellowstone). The next day we brought Ollie on an incredible hike through the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. As usual, Sir Ollie was quite possibly more of a showstopper than the beautiful vista. People just love to see a peculiar little Sussex Spaniel! We managed to leave the park having seen a number of elk, bison, antelope and a bald eagle.

The next day was so special in many ways. We drove through Yellowstone (from Montana to Idaho) to the Grand Tetons in WY. I have to say - Yellowstone was cool, but the Grand Tetons were unlike anything we had seen before. It was BREATHTAKING. Every angle was different and just as beautiful (or more so) than the one before. We landed in Jackson, WY to visit my dear friend Josh who we hadn't seen since college. It was amazing to meet his wife and family and watch our girls (5 in all) all hit it off. Josh and Kalen brought us to the base of the mountain at sunset to hear the elk call for their mates. We had a hike, caught up and watched the girls run around like old friends. This was followed by a stargazing session with Josh's friend where we saw planets, galaxies, and at least 5 shooting stars. What beats a day like this? No wonder Millie broke - in the best of ways :).
