It's 2020 baby - literally anything is possible! It all started this summer, when we talked about how lucky we were to be healthy, have work, and have each other. We talked about how, if we were bold enough, this situation could be spun into an opportunity for our family. We could think outside of the box. We could swim a bit upstream. *Hopefully* we will never be in this situation again. Let's take advantage while we can.
Then school began and we were lucky enough to have kids in a building part-time, so naturally we lost some enthusiasm. Things had *some* semblance of normalcy (though totally not normal at all). Luckily though, in the face of our slightly cold feet (and let's be honest, laziness), the Sami & James of yesteryear (summertime) were nagging us to take this adventure. We knew that if we didn't pull the trigger, we'd likely regret it. So here we are. Planning to leave on a 3+ week trip in an RV across the country.
Naturally we'd plan the trip using a giant US puzzle, a trivia game, and my brother's state capitol flipper game from 1984 (see above). Maddy can't wait to see Mt. Rushmore. Millie is SO excited to live in an RV. James is totally dorked out on every detail of the itinerary (he's the planner extraordinaire of the family). And Ollie is just really happy to have a break from his brother, Tater Tot (who has to stay home due to his inability to behave). Personally, I can't wait to watch my family have this crazy adventure. I'm excited to sport my newly curated "Yellowstone look". I'm so psyched to see wildlife in the true wild, and meet up with friends we haven't seen in way too long. Should be a trip in more ways than one! Take that Covid.
